I know it

When you far
I feel it
When you’re close
I love it
Place your finger on my face
I know it
Your breath on my back
I want it
Your hand around me
I never want to leave it
Your embrace on my lips
I hold it
I feel you slipping away again
I try to grasp it
Don’t leave me again
I’ve lost it

My Mind Wanders

My mind wanders everyday
Thinking about you
And why you stay
Why you love me?
Why you care?
Why you touch me?
Why you dare?
Why don’t you leave me?
And leave me alone
Why can’t I trust your
Soul made of stone
Why do you whisper?
So close to my ear
Why do your words?
Surround me with fear
Why does my mind wander?
Away from my heart
I’m in love with you
But why even start

I glare upon the distant future

my feet tap with an unending dread

what will wait for me there?

round body and happy soul

your eyes looking at me

happy with the life which we have created

what will wait for me there?

a longing for what could of been

my body aches from the mistakes i have made

things i wish i could have long forgotten

what will wait for me there?

a feeling of strength and certainty

a woman, a real woman

will i know who i am?

what will wait for me there?

So last night was good. No serious bingeing which is always a good thing. i have just gotten into this awful habit of getting a nice big cup of cereal everynight at 2 in the morning. This makes me wake up feeling guilty and full.. not a great way to start the day. So.. here are some of my short term goals for the next week.

1. Sleep in Mom and Dad’s room to avoid midnight munching. It is emabrrassing yes, but it will make you feel better in the morning

2. Get 30 minutes of some kind of exercise everyday, it does not have to be running

3. Blog on here about how you feel every morning. Getting your feelings out is a good thing

4. NO FACEBOOK CHAT WITH GARY- Does it ever make you feel any better? NO!

I think this is a good start to change some of the things I dont feel in control with in my life at the moment. Sometimes i feel like I have to sit down and tell myself the things I truly need. Writing things down here really helps a lot as well.

Till Tomorrow

I have been feeling pretty down since my breakup and I think i need to remind myself of the wonderful accomplishments I have made this year. This morning, bawling on my bathroom floor, I realized that I should just let go. I need to let go of what could be or could have been. I need to love myself right now, in the present. I think my problem is on days like this when I am stressed, overwhelmed with homework, and just plain busy, my eating habits can just go out the window! I end up not eating right and feel unsaitably hungry by the end of the day.

So in an attempt to help remind myself, here are some easy and quick ways you can save yourself from a busy day disaster

  • Plan, Plan Plan- Know you are going to be out and about all day? Pack plenty of healthy portable snacks that can easily be carried in your packback or purse. Some examples include: Apples, Pears, Peachs, Plums, Carrots, Carrot Sticks, Pretzels, Kashi Granola Bars, Whole Grain Crackers, String Cheese, Trail Mix, any kind of nuts, and dry whole grain cereal
  • Eat every 3-4 hours- I know when I’m busy it is easy to push those hunger cues to the side only to find myself starving at 10pm. The way I keep my energy levels up and my metabolism stable is to make sure to eat something small at least every 3-4 hours.
  • Take a moment to breath.. and treat yourself- everyone wants something comforting when they are stressed out. Some people want ice cream, fried foods, or chocolate. Instead of gorging yourself when your stressed, try to find something that is non food related that you find relaxing, a nice bike ride? A hot bath with candles? and when that doesnt work… a little ice cream never heart anyone ;)

I hope you guys found my tips helpful! Sometimes I need a good reminder

Have a Healthy Day

AJ

I like to run…a lot

gm-running-5K-0605p58a-m

I wasnt always that way though. I thought I could never be a runner, that was for those healthy people right? It wasnt untill I found the Galloway method of running did I truly fall in love with the sport.

What is the Galloway Method you may ask?

The Galloway Method is a way of running in which you take small breaks. The interval of running to walking can be anywhere from 2 minutes running/ 1 minute walking to 1 mile running/ 1 minute walking. The goal of this method is to provide walk breaks to recover a little bit over the course of the run

Why is this method so great for new runners?

Using the Galloway method, running becomes a lot less intimidating. Instead of telling yourself you have to run a mile, tell yourself to run 2 minutes. Everyone can run two minutes! This method is so successful even some elite runners use it! Pretty soon you will be running 5, 10, or even 15 miles no problem.

I still use the galloway method to this day! Even though my walk breaks are shorter and my running segments are longer, I have found this method to be very beneficial to me in all my training runs and races!

So get out there and do it!
